Drawing on his experience and success as an international cricket coach, Toby is now offering one-to-one motivational and psychological support to sportsmen and women looking to add a winning mindset to their technical game.
Toby says: "For consistent high-end performance, technique alone is often not enough. The best in their field regularly possess it. They also have a self-belief and a calmness of mind which allows them to produce top performances under the most extreme pressure.
"Controlling one's confidence, anxiety and concentration levels is a skill that can be learned and developed and so often makes the difference in the narrow margin between success and failure.
"Although much of my cricket coaching has been of a technical nature - as with Andrew Strauss, Kieron Pollard, Darren Sammy etc... - it has always struck me how so many successful players possess a deep-rooted belief in their own ability, how they welcome competition and have little, or no, fear of failure. In some cases, their positive approach to performance even compensates for some technical faults or failings.
"Positive feedback from many professional cricketers regarding my listening and motivational skills, and an inherent interest in sports psychology are inspiring me now to help those in any sport who believe that a few tweaks in their thinking and not to their technique could well make all the difference to their own sporting results.
"I believe that winning the Twenty20 World Cup with the West Indies in Sri Lanka in 2012 and the English domestic Twenty20 Trophy as Head Coach at Middlesex in 2008, combined with extensive coaching of elite sportsmen in the national and international arena, provide me with the necessary skills and experience to give those sportsmen and women looking for - The Winning Mind!
